Artist Date - Hampden

Life’s a Mess and with all the ~other shit~ it's been hard to stick to things. No excuses. I need to do better. I miss the artist dates, the writing times, the more intentionality. Funny how easy it is, to let everything unimportant but so blisteringly loud, wash away all the important, quite notes of our lives.

But, I had a great time on the artist date down to one of the listings in Jake's building. I took some lovely pictures too and have been really wanting to post those (and lazy, forgetting, wanting to write this, putting it off...)

So anyway, I really love this building. There's probably a bit of bias there since i like jake and i like his place but I've been trying to see past it and just enjoy.

Yeah, there's a wild amount of strange things that are going on with the building, HOA is an adventure, I wouldn't say it's bad, it's just. The complexities of time + housing + life going on. In some way, i find it quite fascinating and interesting.

I swear though, this place got a siren song call. shit. I like the way it feels; it has lively yet peaceful energy to it. Like, the *whole* of the building feels this way.

So, I check the market all the time for this area right off Hampden and i25. Boyfriend lives there, friends are moving nearby, I like it there... and it's probably smart for me to pursue knowledge of real estate in areas I like. Since I'm trying to like, do work. I also watch the hell out of this building, not as detailed as I should and look at the units that come up and how they're done, their quality, finishes, trends. What does me, a perpetual potential buyer™, expect to find in this building?!

i was looking at one of the listings, enjoying the pictures as I do, and I see it has a black accent wall!

now, Jake and I have been talking about what if one of the walls at his place was black, and how that'd look / where, etc.

And the staging looks really nice, there's a black bed frame! I must see it! He's at work today, and I'm just at the condo trying to do work stuff. So I make my lil appointment, and go over after I finish my morning stuff.

I like these specific showing dates because it's time to practice photography, but really it's a time to think, reflect, visualise, and just .. decompress and almost meditate in a quiet, different space. Sometimes the photos are frustrating to take, or I have other annoyances creeping in. Others, I fall in love with the place, and I imagine a life there. Maybe it's even dull and uninspiring, devoid of mood or motive. It's complicated. It's also immensely blissful, regardless of the experience and sensations taking form.

Anyway. The tedious part about taking the pretty pictures is editing them to post. They're not always perfectly straight, and sometimes the colours aren't right. *And this is important to me*because I want them to be professional looking. Proper, neat. ~~there's pride there~~ Probably deep down I'd like to try taking pictures in a professional capacity. Or in some sort of.. more than just 'comfy pasttime'. It's this weird productivity thing I try to inject into everything I do that kills the freedom of doing things for leisure.

... I managed to edit some of them, though. yay!

I hope you enjoy them

and remember

you're flawless
